Your vehicle has to be raised about a foot off the ground via ramps. A protective matt is laid down and then the undercoating is applied via a spray gun. This usually will take up to 3 hours to complete.
Woolwax is a lanolin based product that has a very slight organic smell that will quickly dissipate.
Woolwax Undercoating is an extremely thick and viscous product. Because of this it resists wash off more then other products. It also contains no solvents so it won't dry. The vehicle undercarriage will only need yearly touchups. Interior spaces such inside of doors will not need touchup.
Woolwax Undercoating can be applied over existing surface rust. The undercoating will stop the rust from progressing on contact by creating a film barrier that will prevent moisture and oxygen from getting to the base metal. It is not a rust converter or remover. So any heavy bubbling or flaking rust will need to be brushed off before application. It is never too late to treat your vehicle.
During the winter season with salt/snow it is not recommended to use any high pressure washing of the vehicle undercarriage. A low pressure rinsing with a garden hose will not remove the Woolwax.
Several steps are taken when applying the spray in bedliner. First the clear coat in the bed area needs to be scuffed. It is then wiped clean with an acetone wipe. It is then taped off and masked to protect the areas not to be sprayed. The material is then sprayed on via a compressed air powered spray gun.
The bedliner will be dry to the touch in about 2 hours time and fully cured in 24 hours. However it is recommended to let it cure 24 hours before any light use and to allow 3--5 days for a full cure.
You should follow the vehicle manufacturers recommended oil change intervals. With modern synthetic oils this will usually be several thousand miles. Always remember that regular on time oil changes are one of the most important things you can do to help ensure the longevity of your vehicle's engine. Engine sludge from poor oil change intervals leads to expensive repairs or engine failure.
